Lighting Retrofit

Here is a lighting retrofit, not here in Nashville thankfully.  It may or may not be LED or Cosmopolis/Master Color metal halide, but this is the Toronto airport.  Not a good lighting installation guys.

Here is one of my manufacturers, Firefly, who works in fluorescent retrofits.

Sistemalux at the Trolley Barns, Nashville

Here is a picture of some Sistemalux site lighting fixtures at the Trolley Barns in Nashville.  You can see Titans Stadium and the Korean Veterans Bridge in the background. This is a great site job by Hawkins Partners landscape architects.  The fixtures shown here can be seen at the following link.  They look great at night.

Performance in Lighting (Prisma) - Quick Ship Program

Vanderbilt University, LED Lighting

This is a new project at Vanderbilt University.  As you can see, it is still under construction but is using the Cree CR Series 1'X4' LED lay-in.  This was specified by Hastings Architecture here in Nashville with the electrical engineering by Tony Scoggins of MP&E Engineering.

Ledalite Revit Files Including the ArcForm

Additional Revit files from Ledalite including the ArcForm lay-in.  Let me know if you need help with these.

Ledalite Revit Families Feature:

Functional Format

Face-based (rather than ceiling or wall hosted) families make it possible to use the files in both the architect model and in linked files used by contractors, regardless of which Revit suite being used.

All lighting fixture families contain an electrical connector to facilitate downstream Revit performance modeling in the development of electrical drawings and calculations.

Parametric Variables

Variable dimension parameters allow designers to change luminaire suspension length or mounting height of fixtures as needed.

Parametric controls allow designers to control the visibility of endcaps, sensors, suspension cables, etc.

Color + Clarity

2D Plan View symbols help keep layout drawings clear, easy to read, and minimize document file sizes.

All family drawing elements are assigned a material or finish type to facilitate realistic Revit renderings.

Always Up to Date

Each Revit file includes a date field in the Family Types dialog box. As subsequent revisions and modifications are made to the models, this date will be updated making it easy for users to identify the most current family version.

Cree Aeroblades News

http://www.betaled.it/en/informato-new-id.php?idNews=67

From the Cree Website:

"This new product, whose name says it all, was developed by Ruud Lighting in collaboration with the Speirs+Major Associates Lighting Design practice. With its aerodynamic form and precision performance, Cree Aeroblades perfectly combine design and cutting-edge technology creating a perfect balance between its bold form and innovative content. Cree Aeroblades reinvents the product starting from its modularity. A new light bar has been developed around the LEDs: a new light source that is so very small yet capable of achieving the lighting technology performance required for urban lighting. From content to form: both the light bar and the fixture have an unconventional design and a sharp, ultra-thin face that sets “the new normal” for street lighting fixtures. "

Video from Speirs and Major for the Cree/Beta Aeroblades.  This fixture is very cool looking.
